Alfa Weekend - 147 Ducati Corse launch

UCIM CO LTD, official agents for Alfa Romeo in Malta, presented to the public the only unit locally out of 500 worldwide: the Alfa 147 Ducati Corse Limited Edition.  The car is finished in dazzling Giulietta Red, with Ducati Corse racing stripes along the sills and logos all around complementing a unique set of 18" alloys to match the shiny and satin-look bits.  The inside is adorned with black leather-clad hip-hugging sport seats with red stitching and adjacent Ducati Corse embroidery on the headrests.  There are also alloy racing pedals, gear knob and '147 Ducati Corse' kick-plates.  White dial Ducati Corse instrumentation with ice-white illumination complement the classic Alfa red controls among which sits a red button marked 'Sport' which enhances the throttle response.

This powerful diesel hits 100 in eight seconds flat and tops out at 215kph.  Power comes from an overboosted ECU controlling a 1.9VVJTD 16v engine churning out no less than 170BHP through a 6-speed gearbox tractioned to the wheels via a Q2 Torsen Limited Slip Differential.  Torque is a whopping 330Nm!

The event took place in the picturesque greenery of the Marsa Sports Club and was complemented by a selection of current Alfa Romeo models now made much more attractive with new 2009-registration pricing providing considerable savings across the range, right up to Euros 10.000.  Completing the line-up were a number of classic Alfas courtesy of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club and Ducati bikes courtesy of their owners.  For the occasion the Marsa Sports Club restaurant also had Alfa Romeo branded wines available on their menu, as well as a wine tasting reception for press invitees.
