World Rally Champion Alex Fiorio to Visit Malta for Celebrations
Alfa Romeo, the Italian car brand considered as the epitome of Italian style and beauty on wheels is this year celebrating 100 years of glory and style. In Malta, its local agents UCIM Co Ltd will be commemorating this special event by hosting an incredible driving exhibition at the Hal Far race track on the 5th and 6th of June. For this event, Alfa Romeo Malta have secured the presence of World Rally Champion Alex Fiorio, renowned as one of the best rally drivers of his category.
Alex Fiorio was born on the 10th of March of 1965. During his career as a Rally driver he has won numerous awards including the World Championship (Rally Group N ) and the European Championship. He last won the Italian Rally Championship in 2005. He is now one of the instructors at the Centro Internationale Guida Sicura owned by ex Formula 1 Italian driver Andrea de Adamich.
The Centro Internazionale Guida Sicura is a project set up in 1991 in conjunction with Alfa Romeo. This Centre dedicates itself to the dynamic relations it has with its big name Driver-Instructors. They deem each year to be more challenging than previous years, even thanks to Alfa Romeo which continues to turn out models of the very highest levels in terms of style, performance and technology. Top-end versions of these models are available for the Courses and activities at the Centre. De Adamich believes that it has now become very easy to drive new vehicles which are equipped with outstanding mechanical and technological systems, but the work of the Centre, with its guests of the Evolved and Sporting Safe Driving Courses, adds quality and style. It is such values that have always made the difference, at a human level, between driving safely and risks or negligibly.
UCIM Co Ltd is inviting the public to register their interest in participating in this event by filling in a form which can be obtained from the Alfa Romeo showroom located in Valley Road B’Kara. Each person participating in the course will be measured for their skill at the wheel, sturdiness on the road and most importantly, control. Participants will be given the amazing opportunity to experience hands-on the latest model of the MiTo range – the MiTo Quadrifoglio version. They will be accompanied by World Rally Champion Alex Fiorio who will assess their skill at the wheel, their sturdiness on the road and most importantly, their control.
